GFA 424 is a 4-channel high accuracy ultrasonic gas flow meter:

Reliable flow metering:

GFA 424 ultrasonic flow meters are the latest addition to the GFA family and are designed for accurate and reliable custody transfer flow metering of natural gas, biomethane, H2+NG mixtures and other gases.

Straight pipes required:

These meters do not require any straight runs for installation, neither before the meter, nor after the meter. Perturbances to the flow do not affect the meter performance. The meters have been tested as per the requirements of OIML R137 with various types of local resistances and are certified as per the applicable EU Directives MID, ATEX and PED. The pressure drop across the meter does not exceed 3.5 kPa.

Since there are no requirements for straight runs, GFA 424 meters are the optimal solution for replacement of all types of mechanical and other kinds of meters without the need for any modifications.

Available in different sizes:

GFA 424 meters can measure flow speeds up to 25 m/s which allows for rangeability 1:160. The meters are serially manufactured for line sizes DN 50 (G100); DN 80 (G250); DN 100 (G400); DN 150 (G1000) & DN 200 (G1600) with flanged process connection ANSI#150 and PN16.

Electronics:

GFA 424 meters have an integrally mounted electronics unit with local graphical display which also provides for configuration and servicing of the device in-situ. The meters have 2 user configurable LF/HF pulse outputs and a serial RS485 port for digital communication (MODBUS RTU). Besides these, the meters can be supplied with 2 discrete outputs and an additional RS 485 port or a 4…20 mA current output.

GFA 424 meters operate from external 12 VDC power and can also be supplied with integral batteries for autonomous operation. The minimum battery life time is 5 years.

Certified for hazardous area:

GFA 424 meters are certified for installation in hazardous locations (zone 1, 2; gas group IIC) and are tested for pressure containment at manufacturer’s facilities with test pressure 1.5 times the maximum operating pressure. Factory calibration of meters is carried out after fabrication on air at ambient conditions. GFA 424 meters can also be supplied with integral PTZ volume correction feature with integral pressure and temperature measurement.
